the deep blue sea

looks daunting to me

until i think about how

nothing is ever known

until it happens.

you fear the depths of the ocean

because you are unsure as to what is below,

but when have you ever been cognizant

of events unfolding on land

until they transpired?

what i’m trying to say is

we do not know anything

until it’s happening.

i did not know you were leaving

until you left.

i did not know you were dying

until you died.

i did not know i could carry on without you

until i started carrying on without you.
