i cannot help but wonder who i would be

if everything that happened had not happened.

i cannot help but wonder who i would be

if everything that happened

had not happened.

which parts of me exist

only because they were allowed to?

did the parts of me i was taught to hide

disappear forever?

or will i be able to get back to

those parts of me someday?

am i who i am because

it’s who i am meant to be?

or am i who i am because

of all that they did to me?
