i wonder how it’d feel to control the skies.

a poem about the influence of sunlight on my mental state.

i was sitting on a park bench

during a rainstorm

in april.

the raindrops pitter-pattered

in a way that was

instrumental.

and the rhythm of the rain-falling-

on-the-sidewalk-induced lull got me

thinking about how weather is

mighty influential.

sometimes,

i wonder how it’d feel

to control the skies.

i think

there would be fewer tears

falling from my eyes.

if only the sun could stay out

all day everyday.

i imagine

she could help me see the world

in colors that are not grey.
