it rids their words of sincerity.

a poem about robotic people’s discomfort makes them sound.

do you pick up on how robotic people can be

and the way it rids their words of sincerity?

i think about the way everyone said the same lines

back when my mom died and

i was anything but fine.

what am i supposed to say when

you tell me you’re sending love?

is the cliché of, “are you okay?”

my misery meant to

get rid of?

i do not intend to be rude

so i apologize should my honesty

come across as such,

but a lot of what people say

in the aftermath of death

really does not help

all that much.
