lying can only propel you so far.
a poem about how the truth always reveals itself eventually.
the audacity of some people astounds me
to the point of pure perplexity.
if a projected image means more to you
than what sits at your core,
i’m curious to know why you do not value reality
more than you do folklore.
just because something is cliche
does not invalidate its weight,
so when i tell you the truth always comes out,
what i’m trying to say is you better get this straight.
lying can only propel you so far
until you eject yourself into a brick wall,
and when the kingdom you built upon falsities falls,
i hope you learn that honesty is a more sustainable protocol.
