nothing matters more

than what you embody at your core.

if your heart was encased with a door,

would you line up spikes along the floor?

or would you welcome people in with rapport

assuming good intentions during all hours — twenty-four?

i like to believe no harm will be done evermore

and i trust that those around me will ignore

any hatred that greets them onshore

because this life is too short to abhor.
