set up shop

i don’t sell seashells

by the sea shore but

i sure as hell know

what it’s like

to set up shop;

beg the heavens to

consume me;

plead humidity to

absorb me

and humanity to

absolve me

before sand dunes

swirl around me

until white caps

come to

collect me.
